It is the bedrock and the oldest series in the house of Canton: our Ergo is the epitome of a classic hi-fi speaker with noble ingredients and classy appearance. It has never changed its character over the years and yet the Canton Ergo is at the cutting edge of technology. It is constantly being optimized by our developers and continually equipped with the latest technologies. Thus, the timelessly elegant construction scores with the best technical ingredients, its unmistakable design with high-quality real wood veneer and characterful aluminum front panels and the incomparably good Canton sound. The stately 2.5 way bass reflex speaker Ergo 655 Center convinces with its unmistakable design and best workmanship as well as its excellent dispersion behavior, great dynamics and musical balance.
State-of-the-art: its technology
In a horizontal D'Appolito arrangement, the two powerful 174 mm woofer and bass-midrange drivers in the bass-reflex cabinet provide powerful and precise bass as well as neutral and clearly structured mid-range. The perfect complement comes from our brilliant 25 mm aluminum manganese dome tweeter, which is a proven guarantor of euphony with its detailed and superbly resolved treble reproduction. Thanks to the two-and-a-half-way design principle, the center delivers a balanced frequency response with excellent dispersion characteristics for your home theater: from 26 to 40,000 Hertz, the Ergo 655 Center is in its element. The loudspeaker is very solidly built, has multiple bracing on the inside and is equipped with high-quality internal cabling. The sound of the Ergo 655 Center is finely tuned by selected crossover components and the strategically placed damping of the housing. All these measures make the 53 centimeter wide, 20.5 centimeter high and 28.5 centimeter deep center speaker a confidence-inspiring 13 kilograms.
It's all in the details
The Ergo 655 Center, like all our loudspeakers, is manufactured in our factory in Weilrod in the Taunus region of Germany. In this way, we maintain the necessary quality standards, minimize tolerances, eliminate any defects and meet the high sound requirements for our speakers. The Ergo loudspeaker models are finished by hand in numerous work steps and at the end of production they shine in timeless elegance - optionally in the noble real wood veneer variants "Cherry", "Wenge" or "Ash". The high-quality aluminum front grille gives the Ergo 655 Center its own characteristic face. If necessary, it can be removed to reveal the velvet-covered baffle. 24 carat gold-plated, stable screw terminals ensure optimal and long-term stable signal transmission.
