My smart device setup via Google Home® fails
- Ensure that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your mobile device.
- Make sure that the DHCP server is enabled on your Wi-Fi router.
- Ensure that the MAC address filter on your router is disabled.
- The device was previously set up with another Google Home account on a different network. Reset the smart device to factory settings and repeat the setup process.
I receive an error message when setting up my smart device via Google Home
- Ensure that the latest version of the operating system and Google Home app is installed on your mobile device.
- Press "Retry" 2-3 times.
- Go to Privacy Settings, disable the "Local Network" option, then enable it again. Return to Google Home and press "Retry."
- If none of these steps resolve the issue, try setting up the device with a different mobile device (preferably Android).
Not all or no devices are displayed when creating a Google group
- The device must have been set up using Google Home. If the device was configured via AirPlay, it cannot be added to a group.
- All devices must be linked to the same Google account that is used on the smartphone.
No devices are displayed under "New Device" in the Canton app
- Your device has already been set up via Google Home or AirPlay configuration. If the device is already connected to a network, it will no longer appear under "New Device."
- You are using a non-network-capable smart product, such as a Smart Vento 9, a Smart Sub, or a SOUND L or M. These devices are not supported by the app.
Setting up my smart device via Apple AirPlay is not possible
- You own a first-generation smart device. These cannot be set up via AirPlay.
- Setup via Apple AirPlay is only possible within 15 minutes after plugging in the power adapter. Disconnect the device from the power source and reconnect it.
My smart device's settings are lost
All settings that you change in the speaker menu of your smart device, such as input, volume, and play mode, must be saved as a preset to be retained. Otherwise, the device may overwrite your settings with default values.
I cannot activate certain speakers on my Connect/Amp 5.1
On Connect/Amp 5.1, only two analog and three wireless speaker pairs, as well as one center speaker and one subwoofer with the same connection type, can be activated. It is not possible to activate three analog or four wireless speaker pairs.
Is synchronized playback on multiple devices possible?
Yes, but this requires creating a group within the Google Home app.
What content can I save as presets?
You can save all content from the internal apps of the Canton app as well as Spotify playlists as presets on the smart device.
Which device settings are saved as presets?
The input, main volume, play mode, and all settings except EQ, room height, and device height in the speaker settings menu are saved.
Are the device settings of group members also saved in a preset?
No. Only the settings of the device on which the preset is saved are stored. The settings of other group members are not saved.
A subwoofer connected to the Amp/Connect does not output sound
This is normal behavior under the following conditions:
- The front speakers are defined as large, or smart floor-standing speakers are connected.
- The input signal (e.g., PCM or Dolby Digital 2.0) does not contain an LFE signal.
If you set the "SUB Stereo" parameter in the speaker settings/subwoofer setup menu to "Xover" or "parallel," the subwoofer will output a signal in stereo and party play modes despite the above conditions.

- Ensure that the smartphone used to start the stream remains in the same network as the speaker group throughout the entire playlist.
- Ensure that the Canton App continues running on the smartphone used to start the stream, either in the foreground or background. The app must not be closed!
When I play a preset for a speaker group directly from the device, playback starts only on that device
Ensure that a mobile device with the running app is connected to the network.
The track length of all songs on Deezer is limited to 30 seconds
This is normal behavior when using a "Deezer Free Account." To listen to full-length tracks, a Deezer Premium Account is required.
Does my smart device support gapless playback?
Yes, Canton Smart devices support gapless playback via AirPlay, Spotify Connect, and the internal apps of the Canton App, but not via Google Chromecast.
Does my smart device support playback via Tidal Connect?
No. Streams from Tidal can only be sent to the device using the internal apps of the Canton App, Chromecast, or AirPlay.
What is the bitrate of the internal apps?
This depends on the bitrate of the station or podcast. Many stations offer multiple bitrates. The Canton App always uses the highest available bitrate. Stations in the "High Quality" folder have a bitrate of 256kbps or higher. For Deezer, a bitrate of 1411kbps in FLAC format is selected.
My car radio automatically switches to Apple CarPlay®

Are radio and podcast favorites synchronized between multiple mobile devices?

My Soundbox 3, connected via Smart Wireless, does not turn on with the master device (Soundbar, Connect/Amp 5.1)

This is only indirectly possible if you connect the speakers via smart wireless to a soundbar or an Amp/Connect.
Can I continue using the inputs on my Canton smart speaker if it is connected via smart wireless to a soundbar or Connect/Amp?
No, this is not possible. When a speaker is connected via smart wireless to a soundbar, Connect, or Amp, all of the speaker's inputs are disabled.
My smart device automatically switches to a specific menu when I control it via the infrared remote control or the Canton app.
This can happen if the device menu has been opened in the Canton app on another smartphone while the Canton Smart App is installed and connected on multiple smartphones, and the app is still running in the background.
